Today SCORAI 2020 starts, an international conference on sustainable consumption which is being held completely online. During three days everything from social justice to sustainable fashion and less growth will be discussed.

The SCORAI-conference is a collaboration between the Swedish research program Mistra Sustainable Consumption and Northeastern University in USA and it attracts hundreds of participants from all over the world. The main theme for the conference is  ‘Sustainable Consumption & Social Justice in an Urbanizing World’. Many of Mistra Sustainable Consumption’s researchers will take part.

Corona made the conference climate friendly
As the confernce already in part was going to be digital for climate reasons, it was much easier to adapt it to be entirely digital to work in the corona situation of today. Read more about that here.

One of the keynote speakers is the economist Peter Victor, York University who has been doing research on sustainability and less economic growth for 40 years. He has for example written the book ”Managing without Growth – Slower by Design, not Disaster” and cooperated with celebrity-economist Tim Jackson.

SCORAI 2020 is not open for anyone to participate but some of the keynote speakers will be published on our film site soon.
